Bachelor of Mass Communication Fee Structure

The different institute has a different fee structure for a BMC course. Government colleges charge lesser fees than private colleges. The BMC course fee range for government colleges from Rs. 11,659 to Rs. 1,10,000 while the private colleges charge Rs. 2.5 to Rs. 8.5 lakhs for the entire course.

Bachelor of Mass Communication (BMC) Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates are required to have cleared the Class 12 board examination from a recognised board of education in India from any stream.
  • Many colleges require that its applicants have secured a minimum aggregate score of 50% or more in the qualifying exam, i.e. 10+2.
  • Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PH category get 5% relaxation in marks
  • The age of the candidates must be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years.
  • Candidates who have appeared in their 10+2 can also apply for the course provided they have met the eligibility norms
  • Having good communication skills is one of the most important eligibilities to pursue a Bachelor of Mass Communication course
  • Only the medically fit candidates are eligible for this course

For each undergraduate, postgraduate or any other higher education course, an aspirant needs to go through a selection or admission process. The Bachelor of Mass Communication (BMC) admission process can be completed in one of two popular methods, namely, entrance-based admission processes or merit-based admission process. Entrance-Based Admission BMC
  • Commonly opted by many educational institutions in India, entrance-based admissions to BMC course requires candidates to appear for an entrance test, which, for BMC, will be conducted by each college offering the course.

  • After attempting the entrance test, the college/university concerned will release the results and subsequently, publish the merit lists containing the names of all qualified candidates with their scores and ranks.

  • Each college will then request the candidates to participate in the respective selection process, as outlined by the concerned educational institution.

  • The selection processes may require candidates to sit through a Personal Interview and/or Group Discussion.

  • Based on their performance in the entrance test and the personal interview and/or group discussion, the candidates will be shortlisted for admissions the course.

Merit-Based Admissions for BMC
  • Here, candidates will be asked to apply to the course and submit the respective documents proving their eligibility to the course.

  • After the document verification process, candidates may be called for a Personal Interview and/or Group Discussion, as defined by the respective colleges.

  • Depending on the candidate’s previous academic track record and their performance in the personal interview and/or group discussion, colleges/universities will select the prospective students for the course.

Counselling-Based Selection Process for BMC
  • A counselling-based selection process is common under both entrance-based and merit-based admission processes. This method of selection is also commonly opted by Universities with numerous affiliated or constituent institutions.

  • The respective institutions will release the appropriate merit lists containing the names of the candidates with their ranks/scores.

  • Depending on their ranks/score mentioned in the merit lists, candidates will be called to participate in the counselling process.

  • The counselling process will require shortlisted candidates to choose the college and course of their choice.

  • As per the preferred choice of course & college and with the candidate’s ranks/score along with the vacancy in the respective seats, candidates will be offered admission to the course.
